The new premium range was introduced by Dilmah last year. Three flavours were ranged in Coles: Earl Grey & Vanilla, Ceylon Green Tea with Mint, and Royal Ceylon Breakfast. See the full article on Inside FMCG – Dilmah launches luxury artisanal tea range across Coles stores – Inside FMCG.
We’ve got an impression that initially they were ranged in a number of Coles stores if not in all, but now you can find this tea in selected stores only.
To the tea now: when you open a tin, you can smell sweet vanilla followed by bergamot. We did not quite like vanilla notes here as we found them a bit “artificial”. It will be interesting to compare this with other Vanilla Earl Grey teas on market.

Pros
Very nice, pleasant to drink tea.

Cons
Vanilla has “artificial” smell and taste.

Value for money
You can buy it in Coles for approx. $14 per a tin of 20 tea bags (equals 70c per tea bag). We bought it on promo for $9 per tin (equals to 45c per bag).
Just to compare: T2 French Earl grey at the same Coles is $16 per pack of 25 tea pyramids (64c per pyramid).

Premium Vanilla Earl Grey Tea by Dilmah – 20 Exquisite Pyramid Bags for a Luxurious Infusion

What is Earl Grey Tea?

Earl Grey tea is a distinguished blend, renowned for its unique flavour that comes from the oil of bergamot. This citrus fruit’s fragrant oil is infused into black tea leaves, giving the tea its signature taste. While traditionally made from teas like Chinese Keemun and intended to be enjoyed without milk, modern variations include a smoky touch with lapsang souchong or even green and oolong versions.

The history of Earl Grey tea is as rich as its flavour. The blend dates back to the early 19th century, with various legends surrounding its origin. One popular tale suggests it was named after Charles Grey, the 2nd Earl Grey and British Prime Minister in the 1830s. Despite the myths, it’s likely that bergamot was initially used to enhance the taste of lower-quality teas.

Today, Earl Grey is not only a tea lover’s delight but also a versatile ingredient. It lends its exquisite flavour to cakes, confectionery, and even savory sauces. Whether enjoyed in a traditional cup or as a culinary component, the tea remains a beloved choice for its delightful blend of robust black tea and the therapeutic properties of bergamot oil.

T2 LEMON COCO BREEZE, ICED TEA

Ready to drink tea. Very light sweet beverage with a strong coconut flavour, similar to coconut water but sweeter. Lemon and black tea flavours are not quite noticeable. If you like coconut water you will love this product. Tea drinkers maybe disappointed.

Value for money
The product is around $10 per pack of 4 in retail (was $6/pack of four on Promo at the time of purchase). Seems overpriced.

Tea Name/Brand: T2 Lemon Coco Breeze

Form: Ready to drink tea, can

Ingredients: Water, Black tea extract (4%), Sugar, Food acids (296, 300), Lemon Juice from concentrate (0.1%), Natural flavours (with natural coconut and natural lemon flavours), Antioxidant (300), Natural Sweetener (960).

T2 WATERMELON FIESTA, ICED TEA

Ready to drink. Sweet, light and refreshing beverage with a dominating mint flavour and mild fresh watermelon notes.
The manufacture is claiming no artificial sweeteners, flavours or colours and no preservatives, which is great. Another good thing about the beverage: There are not many beverages on the market with watermelon flavor, therefore this product could be a win for those who love watermelon.
What we did not like: High sugar content- 4.8g sugar per can (we know its claimed as Low Sugar but still… 4.8g looks a lot and unnecessary). Health Star Rating: 2.5

Value for money: You can buy it in retail for approx. $6 per carton of 4 cans (on promo). Slightly overpriced on our opinion, we would not buy it on full price.

Tea Name/Brand: T2 Watermelon Fiesta (Watermelon & Mint Flavoured)

Form: Ready to drink herbal blend, can.

Country of Origin: Packed in Malaysia.

TWININGS SLEEP WELL, TEA BAGS

If you are looking for a soothing and relaxing cup of tea, you might want to try this herbal blend. It comes in a lovely box that has a mild herbal scent when you open it. Each tea bag is individually wrapped and has a hint of honey aroma when you tear it open. To brew it, you just need to steep it in boiling water for 3 minutes. No need to add any milk or sugar.
Once brewed, the tea has a light yellow color and a honey-floral fragrance that is almost too sweet. We found it too perfumery or artificial.
It tastes like a mix of linden and chamomile, with a slight bitterness and a very subtle honey note.
Overall, this is a pleasant light beverage that can help you unwind and relax. It is not very strong or complex, but it has a nice balance of sweetness and bitterness. If you like herbal teas with a floral twist, you might want to give this one a try.

Pros
Light sweet beverage.

Cons
Added flavours. Perfumery aroma.

Value for money
You can buy it in retail for approx. $8.50 for 22 bags (equals 39c per tea bag). Slightly overpriced on our opinion, we would not buy it on full price.

Tea Name/Brand: Twinings Sleep Well, Flavoured Infusion.

Form: Tea bags.

Caffeine: No caffeine.

Ingredients: Linden, Orange Leaves, Camomile (10%), Orange Flowers (10%), Cinnamon Bark, Orange Blossom Flavouring (2%), Honey Flavouring (2%), Honey Pieces (1%).
